Herbs For CongestionHead and chest congestion can be relieved with these herbs for congestion
When we are suffering from a cold, the best thing to do is help our body to heal itself. God has
designed our body so intricately that it has the capacities to right what is wrong if given the right tools.
Congestion in the head and chest during a cold is a result of an infection. Our body produces more mucous and sometimes
it can be quite thick. All this clogs up our respiratory passages.
The trick is to help get rid of that mucous so we can breathe easier. Expectorant herbs help with this. It softens the mucous and loosens
it up so that it can be eliminated.
I have found one of the best ways to help the body eliminate congestion in a cold is to use herbs for congestion and hot water in a steam. This is very
effective for children as well. Eucalyptus or its essential oil is my all time favorite cold and congestion remedy.
The steam creates moisture particles and acts as the vehicle for the essential oils of the eucalyptus to ride on.
Other good ways to relieve congestion are hydrotherapy and nasal irrigation.
