Plantain Poultice (civilized version)

The best herbal poultice for insect stings and bug bites! Easy to find plantain weed will alleviate the pain.

Using plantain can be as simple as chewing it and placing it on the sting or a little more civilized as in the following poultice recipe.

plantain herb pictures Pick your plantain from unsprayed areas and place in a blender. Turn on blender and add just enough water to make a pureed mass of green.

Now apply the mass to the wound, it can be held down with a strip of muslin or other cloth.

Freeze any extra blended plantain in ice cube trays. After it has frozen, pop out of the ice cube tray and store in a Ziploc bag in the freezer.
