Who would have thought it? When the first signs of a cold comes on, we don't have to bust the bank or go to the drugstore in order to find some simple home remedies for sore throats. The ingredients I'm going to show you are easy to find and great if you happen to be travelling and that first tickle in the throat comes on.

Although not specifically meant for sore throats, garlic is an indispensable aid when suffering from a cold. Garlic offers anti viral properties and boost the immune system necessary to combat the infection behind the sore throat.

Honey is soothing for a sore throat and a great way to mask the stronger taste of garlic, especially for kids.

Remember that honey can contain botulism, so don't give your little ones under two this sore throat remedy.

What you will need:
sore throat remedies
  • 1 bulb garlic (that's the whole thing, not just a clove)
  • Honey, enough to cover
Follow these easy steps:
  1. Crush the garlic and place in microwave or oven safe bowl.

  2. Cover with honey and bake or microwave at a low heat just until honey is hot.

  3. Allow to cool and strain.

Your garlic may turn color in the honey, but that's OK, it's still all good.

A child could take a teaspoon of Garlic Honey 3 or 4 times a day. An adult can take more.

Garlic Honey can be stored in the fridge and will last a couple weeks.
